Granite Coffee Table
I am sometimes inspired by the simplest of items. I had responded to a free craigslist post for lumber. While the lumber turned out to be worthless, it was at a counter top business that had a massive dumpter with granite scraps in it. Most of them were too heavy for me to even lift, but I took this smaller piece home. It eventually turned into this coffee table. I cut the granite to size with a circular saw and a diamond blade. The wood is maple with walnut splines. I consider this to be my first “good” piece of furniture and was made when my shop still had very few tools in it.
