Butterfly Shadowbox
Dad and I teamed up on a gift to make my brother a butterfly display for his new residence. Dad caught and pinned all bugs in the SC region (mostly down at Edisto Beach) and I built the shadow box from maple. The profile of the frame was copied from the top wing of a tiger swallowtail. The trickiness of this build was due to needing the box to be airtight preventing critters from eating the insects. This made the final glue up quite stressful.
